Debut album from The flying Norsemen, a band with deep roots in Trøndelag, Norway. Consisting three original members from Arabs In Aspic and produced by Jostein Smeby, its hard not to hear some old arab sound on this record. The music draws inspiration from 1970s rock, with elements of stoner, doom, and psychedelia. Woven throughout are vocal harmonies and melodic gems that sparkle like diamonds in the rough. The album takes the listener on a sonic journey, a hazy exploration of the depths of emotion and consciousness. From the thunderous riffs that shake the earth to the melodies that float on the astral plane, the band has crafted a sound that is their own. Gjenferd is a brand new heavy Bergen-based band, formed in Kristiansand in 2020, inspired by heavy rock's childhood when Hammond organs and walls of guitar amplifiers dominated the stages. Long nights of lager, noise, obscure 70s records and rigging of way too heavy Fender Rhodes have resulted in an album that is a sonic explosion of tenacious and hard-hitting riffs, electric noise and idiotically catchy vocal harmonies. The album was recorded by Hans Uhre at Grisehuset, mixed & mastered by Iver Sandøy (Enslaved), and features stunning cover art by Robert Høyem.
